VFK Buddy beta
I tried it out last night and I'm really jazzed at what Hawk has created. I've written a little code, but he's doing really really well.
As was mentioned, careful of the movies you make, they'll take a LOT of disk space before you know it, and also pay attention to the screen shots. They're over 1Mb each, and save in PNG format (See the Photo Tech Support forum for help)
All I'm looking for is the list you can save that will allow fast logins of other players. But uh err, no one has more than one player, uh err, ahem, nvm...

Re: VFK Buddy beta
Haha...I have another player. "she" was also on VMK. Her name is Pixel-Pixie. Oddly enough, she was on Beta3 when I signed her up for VFK and her guest number was in the 1400's...and she got her title on the second day. So she is good to go! I have taken her into VFK a few times.

Haven't tried yet on my older machine..Have XP on that one.

Re: VFK Buddy beta
Cool.. I JUST ran it on Vista a few minutes ago with no problems. Try just a complete restart first and see if that helps anything.
This will be a nice tool for people - and much easier to FIND your screen shots on the disk after..

Hummm...I think I loaded it right-but when I double click on the bat file..I get a black screen with white writing..but it just flashes up for a sec and I can't read what that says.
Ahh..I am so dumbo!

Re: VFK Buddy beta
That's odd - You might do the Java update. I uh didn't (even though the update button is flashing) and it ran ok... For the moment, it don't matter, VFK is so shut off that a login pops you back to the home screen... Perhaps that's what's happening to you now.

Re: VFK Buddy beta
OK let me think..
I 'saved' the file..then went to the bat statement..double click..
Then what am I supposed to see?
The black box with the white writing (computer gibberish as far as i can tell..it doesn't stay open long enough)
I do get a memo from WINZIP about it not being free..but I just ignor that..
I'll see if JAVA needs updating, but I think? I have the latest update.
I'll have Rudy look at it later.
He's sitting with a long leg knee brace and needs something to do. Not used to inactivity!
I'll keep at it..I usually can finally figure stuff out..probably takes me longer then other folks..

Re: VFK Buddy beta
Still no .bat file for me. I am on XP as well. I do have the file that has the same Icon as the .bat file, but when I click on it I get that black screen with the white writing. I have deleted and installed it a couple of times now. I will take a screen shot later and show you what it looks like for me after I extract the files. Maybe I am missing a step or something.

Re: VFK Buddy beta
I got mine working now. I agree about it needing the "Character List" so you can log your other players in. I really liked that feature on VMK Pal. It was nice that it kept track of the names and passwords.
